Shomei (Lighting)
−“Miura Shomei” has established itself as a lighting manufacturer in the district of Gion, Kyoto over a period spanning a little more than 100 years.−
The lighting fixtures found throughout the rooms and hallways were all designed by “Miura Shomei”, a store with a history of manufacturing lights for a little more than 100 years. Japanese lighting features ornamental creations that incorporate bamboo, cedar, and washi (a durable, hand-processed, Japanese paper) to decorate ceilings and pillars in a way that produces the uniquely relaxing ambiance of the machiya.
